Ball Pits And Bounce Houses

By Richard Allen

Ball pits are staples of family entertainment centers and amusement parks across the country. Whether it is part of a giant obstacle course or lying at the bottom of a twisting and turning slide, the ball pit can be a valuable part of any childhood memory. Now, you can own your own personal ball pit, either as part of an inflatable bounce house or as its own stand-alone device, and provide many memorable playtimes for your child.

Bounce houses can be built and constructed in numerous different ways, with various shapes and themes present in each unique bouncy house. One variation of the bounce house design involves adding a ball pit area to the front or the sides surrounding the bounce house structure itself. Plastic balls are then emptied into the pit, allowing children to jump into and crawl through the plastic balls. The structure is built in a way that the actual bounce house is elevated higher off the ground, partially, or totally surrounded by the ball pit. A slide or inflatable ladder device is placed in the pit rather than on the ground, allowing children to easily maneuver from the jump house to the pit whenever they like; it’s their choice. Children who use the ball pit can pretend they’re swimming or exploring or anything else their imagination desires. An example of the design of a bounce house-ball pit combo is the Blast Zone Kingdom Bounce House.

Bounce houses that are built with ball pit designs commonly ship with plastic balls ready for use, but due to their plastic material, can deteriorate over time. Additional ball pit balls can be purchased from our pitball selection. The balls are no more than 3.5 inches in diameter, and can be purchased in packs of varying sizes, ranging anywhere from 100 balls to 600 balls! The ball pit balls also come in various color styles; you can buy ball pit balls for your jump house in multi-colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple), multi-colors with stripes, and a clear, see-through design. It is all dependent on the size of your bounce house and the color scheme you think will go well with it. The bounce house & ball pit combination is a design loved by all children, especially younger kids, so it is a worthwhile design choice to consider when selecting your bounce house.
