How To Use A Bounce House Repair Kit

By Richard Allen

There may unfortunately come a time when, likely by some accident, your bounce house may break or tear apart. It may have taken too much abuse from heavy usage, toppled over by weather, or even just punctured by a foreign object. In addition, your water slide, obstacle course, or aquatic inflatable device may eventually have a rip or tear in its side, requiring immediate attention before permanent damage sets in. Whatever the case may be, any unhappiness caused by the tearing can easily be fixed by way of an inflatable repair kit, officially called a Tear-Aid patch kit.

The Tear-Aid patch, sold in a retail kit or a 3" or 5’ roll, which is essentially a large piece of tape that you place on your bouncy house’s ripping to almost instantly fix any tear. Remove the Tear-Aid patches from their kit or cut the appropriate length of adhesive from the roll. Then, make any additional cuts to the fabric to pare it down to a size that will comfortably cover the entire tear. Remove the film from the back of the patch and apply it to the area on your deflated bouncy device where the rip occurred. The patch will affix itself immediately to the torn surface and will dry in seconds. After you smoothly apply the patch, reintroduce air into the device, and behold! The inflatable device blows up like nothing ever happened! The Tear-Aid patches will not peel off anytime soon, as they are both airtight and waterproof. They are easy to use and guaranteed to work to perfection!

Depending on the type of inflatable device you wish to fix, you may need to choose between a Type A patch kit or a Type B patch kit. Type A patch kits are used to primarily fix non-vinyl surfaces, such as canvas (and other fabrics), rubber, plastics, and fiberglass. Use a Type A patch kit or roll to fix an inflatable boat or raft. Type B patches are used exclusively on vinyl surfaces, and should be used to fix any residential or commercial bouncy house, water slide, or obstacle course.
